The late veteran news anchor Catherine Kasavuli will be laid to rest on January 14, at her rural home in Zululu, Vihiga County.

The celebrated journalist died at the Kenyatta National Hospital  on December 30 after battling cervical cancer for an unknown period of time.

A funeral service in her honor will be held on January 12, at Friends International Church along Ngong road in Nairobi.

Her family has also announced it will hold a funds drive on Saturday, January 7 at the United Kenya Club from 5 pm to raise funds to offset hospital bills which were estimated to have hit Sh4 million by the time she died.

“We anticipate further bills at the funeral home and costs of interment, which cost we can’t estimate now,” the family said.

Kasavuli, a trail blazer in the broadcasting industry worked for more than three decades at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, Citizen TV and KTN.
