Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale’s elder brother Abdi Duale has landed a state appointment from President William Ruto.
Abdi who has previously served as the chairman of the Leather Development Council and Kenya Revenue Authority during Uhuru’s regime will now chair the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KENTRACCO).
This is after President Ruto made yet another round of state appointments kicking out Uhuru’s appointees and replacing them with his own.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander[1]in-Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya, appoint Abdi Bare Duale to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the KENTRACCO,” the president has said in a gazette notice.
The president has also appointed Dr Charles Githinji to chair the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Sophie Waliaula to chair the Youth Advisory board and Fatma Bakari to chair the Youth Development Entreprise Fund Board.
Also appointed are Philip Mongony and Surum Ipato who will chair the State Corporations Advisory Committee and the Anti Female Genital Mutilation board respectively.
