A man from Riruta, Nairobi County, who allegedly sodomized his son has been charged with incest.
The accused appeared before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Phillip Mutua on Thursday, February 16 where he denied the charges.
The court heard that the accused allegedly committed the offence at his home in Riruta on February 1 this year.
Apparently, on that fateful day his wife left their six-year-old son in his care as she left for work.
When she returned, she noticed the boy had difficulty walking and prompted him for answers. The victim allegedly revealed what the father had done.
The wife questioned her husband over the suspected sodomy case and he confessed and asked her forgiveness. She reported the matter to police, leading to his arrest and subsequent arraignment.
The suspect was released on a Sh500,000 bond or surety of the same amount.
According to the Sexual Offences Act, “Any person who commits an indecent act with a child is guilty of the offence of committing an indecent act with a child and is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for a term of not less than ten years.”
Court hearing will proceed on February 22.
