Parts of Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado and Kiambu plunged into darkness due to heavy rains

Several sections of the capital are currently experiencing a power blackout due to the heavy rains that pounded the city last night.

“Kindly note the areas currently off due to Intermittent rainfall experienced. Inconveniences are regretted,” Kenya Power has said in a statement.

The power outage has affected Umoja, Dandora, Buruburu, Eastleigh, Uhuru, Bahati, and their environs. Other areas are Imara Daima, Kasarani, Komarock, Kariobangi, Mathare north, Kiamaiko and Korogocho.

In Machakos, the blackout has affected Joska, Kangundo, Kamulu, Malaa and Athi River. In Kiambu the blackout has affected Juja, Lower Kabete and Ruiru.

In Kajiado the blackout has affected Kitengela, Oloitoktok and Isinya.

The electricity provider has affirmed that they are currently working to restore the mishap.
