United Democratic Alliance secretary general Cleophas Malala has warned Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga that he is not above the law.
During a UDA mass registration drive in Tana River County, Malala told Raila he will be arrested if anti-government protests persist.
Malala held Raila responsible for the destruction caused during the Saba Saba mass protests, accusing him of deliberately undermining President William Ruto’s government.
Malala expressed the sentiment that although they have been tolerant of Raila’s actions, their patience is wearing thin.
He emphasized that if Raila continues to cause damage to people’s property, disrupt investments, and misuse the youth, he will not be above the law and will be apprehended and taken to court.
The UDA Secretary-General further cautioned Raila against proceeding with the planned mass protest scheduled for the following Wednesday.
He specifically stated, “We shall start by arresting Raila Odinga,” while also urging Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki not to entertain Raila’s actions.
Additionally, Malala downplayed Azimio’s recent initiative to gather 10 million signatures to initiate a revolution against President William Ruto’s government.
He remarked that repeating the same actions without obtaining different results would be futile. He pointed out that despite years of holding the Saba Saba march, Raila has not achieved the presidency.
Malala asserted that William Ruto will remain a significant figure until 2032, and suggested that if Azimio wishes to collect signatures, they should attempt it in 2033.
