One of Azimio la Umoja’s affiliate parties, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) has today pledged to work with President William Ruto.
UPA which is the predominant party on the Gusii region said it was shifting camps in order to get development for its people.
President Ruto today made several stop overs in Nyamira during his second visit to the Gusii region within a week.
Party Leader Amos Nyaribo said that residents had asked him to work with President.
The shift in allegiance followed earlier efforts by Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro to rally Governor Nyaribo behind President Ruto.
” My Party Leader continues to hold extensive talks with the President and his key lieutenants over development of the Gusii region, ” UPA party chairman and MCA Rigoma ward Nyambega Gisesa told sauce.co.ke.
Gisesa revealed that Trade CS Moses Kuria and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro organised a meeting for youth and businesspeople drawn from Nyamira County in a bid to support the President.
After today’s events, Gisesa hosted Moses Kuria and youth drawn from Nyamira and Kisii Counties for dinner at Diplozz Resort in Kisii.
The youth endorsed Douglas Ogari as their Chairperson in marketing Trade and Investments around the counties.
” We thank the President and CS Moses Kuria for launching the transformative Industrial Park,” Gisesa said.
UPA was one of the political parties that supported Azimio leader Raila Odinga in last year’s elections.
