Several parts of Kenya do not yet have electricity after last night’s blackout plunged the country into darkness.
The company, in a statement to newsrooms on Friday evening, Kenya Power stated that the outage was caused by a “general system disturbance.”
“We have experienced a general system disturbance thereby causing a major outage. Our technical teams are troubleshooting with the aim of restoring supply at the earliest,” read the report from Kenya Power.
“Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for the continued partnership.”
As at 9am on Saturday, power was still yet to be restored in Western, Coast, North Rift and Nairobi.
