Bongo Flava star Diamond Platinumz has weighed in on the current beef between Kenya and Tanzania over the state of hip hop in the two East African countries.
The beef was ignited by Kenyan rapper rapper Khaligraph Jones when he expressed his belief that Tanzanian hip-hop is experiencing a decline.
“Tanzanians, your rappers have 24 hours to respond,” Khaligraph declared.
“Failure to which I will launch an attack and I will take over the whole Tanzanian music industry and become the best rapper in Tanzania, just like I am the best rapper in Nigeria and Kenya.”
Khaligraph’s audacious challenge has triggered a slew of responses from Tanzanian artists who have been sending diss tracks across the border the whole week.
Last night, the king of Bongo Flava Diamond Platinumz finally weighed in on the matter. He challenged Tanzanian rapper Wakazi to save their country in the rap battle that has so far seen no rapper come close to Khaligraph in terms of lyrical delivery.
“Wakazi, Khaligraph Jones umemskia lakini? (Wakazi have you heard Khaligraph Jones),” Asked Diamond on his Twitter page.
“Tunakutegemea genius wa mziki ama bado uko busy kufanya uchambuzi mtandaoni. (We are depending on you music genius or you are still busy analysing the situation online),” he asked.
