Diamond Platnumz has shed light on the reason he has yet to make use of his private jet, despite making the announcement of its purchase in 2022.
He disclosed that he currently opts to hire private jets for his travels due to an unfortunate turn of events when his own jet did not materialise as expected.
Diamond Platnumz shared that he fell victim to a massive fraud scheme involving a staggering sum of Ksh 240,591,200 million (Tsh 4 Billion) when he attempted to acquire his private aircraft.
According to the artist, he was deceived by an agent who was supposed to facilitate the purchase of the private plane. He went on to explain that he had exposed the scammer, and Tanzanian authorities were now investigating the matter.
“The government is aware of it. When you’re defrauded of such a substantial amount of money, it can drive anyone to madness,” Diamond stated. He also mentioned that he had begun receiving payments in installments.
“They have initiated the payments. I had anticipated the jet’s arrival by August of last year, but it had not arrived by the year’s end. It was quite disrespectful because it made it seem like I had announced false information.”
Diamond Platnumz had previously shared his plans to acquire a private jet, which he expected to have by the end of the previous year.
“I had purchased a substantial aircraft, but I was defrauded of about Tsh 4 billion,” he disclosed to Wasafi Media. This unfortunate turn of events has led to a delay in his ability to use his private jet, and the artist continues to rely on hired private aircraft for his travel needs.
