One of the suspects arrested during a raid conducted at Nyayo House on Monday, October 02, by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) suffered a heart attack at the scene and had to be resuscitated.
The operation, led by Transnational Organised Crime detectives, targeted the Department of Immigration Services.
Fifteen individuals allegedly involved in corruption scandals related to passport issuance were arrested during the operation.
The authorities had been diligently tracking down these individuals for several days. The operation was so detailed that the detectives even conducted forensic analysis and profiling to identify the suspects before carrying out the operation.

During the initial raid, four staff members and a broker were apprehended for further questioning.
However, one of the suspects, when confronted by the detectives, fell ill. He had to be urgently transported to hospital for treatment. Medical assessments at the hospital revealed that he had suffered a heart attack.
“Confronted by the facts of the allegations laid against him, (a suspect) unfortunately fell ill and was rushed to AAR Hospital along Kiambu Road where he was diagnosed with heart attack and high sugar levels,” the DCI statement reads.
Subsequently, he was released on bail to continue his treatment.
Meanwhile, the detectives pursued custodial orders for the remaining suspects at Kahawa Law Courts to facilitate the ongoing investigations.
Fortunately, the suspect has since recovered.
Later on the same day, DCI detectives conducted additional raids at Nyayo House and the Central Business District, resulting in the apprehension of another staff member and eight brokers.
The arrested individuals are accused of soliciting substantial sums of money from individuals seeking passports and work permits. Once paid, they then provide assistance in obtaining these documents.
