Authorities in Homa Bay County are currently conducting an investigation into a disturbing incident in which a gang of four men assaulted and sexually assaulted the wife of a local village elder in Kanyango.

The perpetrators forcibly entered the residence of the village elder on a Monday night, while he was absent, and subjected the 25-year-old woman to a harrowing ordeal. Shockingly, the woman was asleep in her home with her 2-year-old daughter when the assailants broke in past midnight.

According to Samuel Nyagwara, the assistant chief of Kanyango Location, the four men demanded information about the village elder’s whereabouts.

Following the assault, Mr. Nyagwara disclosed that they threatened the victim, warning her of dire consequences should she attempt to raise an alarm.
