The headless body of a police officer attached to the Embakasi Police division was discovered in a coffee plantation in Ndia, located in Kirinyaga County on Tuesday, November 07.
“I am really shocked because I was with him. We had met somewhere yesterday evening, but unfortunately today I got reports that he had been killed and his body dumped in the coffee plantation,” stated a witness at the scene.
Reports by witnesses suggest that the deceased officer may have been subjected to torture. This is because his head had been severed and his body was displaying evidence of knife wounds.
According to a local resident, the officer in question was stationed at the Embakasi Police Station in Nairobi.
However, it remains unclear whether he was off duty or on official duty at the time of his death.
Residents of the area who came across the body alerted the Kirinyaga police. The shocking discovery was made only a few meters away from the officer’s residence, leaving the neighbors in disbelief.
Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene for initial investigations.
The body was later transferred to Kerugoya Referral Hospital in Kirinyaga, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
At this point, the motives behind this gruesome murder remain unknown. Nevertheless, the police have initiated a manhunt for potential suspects.
