Kisii Deputy Speaker Jacob Bagaka becomes latest media owner with Etaya TV launch

Kisii Deputy Speaker Jacob Bagaka has dived into the media business after venacular television Station Etaya TV went on air on Sunday 28, 2024.

Kisii town and its environs were brought to a stand still yesterday as a convoy of SUV’s with the new station’s presenters did a road show to announce the arrival of Etaya TV.

The vernacular TV station which will broadcast in Ekegusii will compete for the eyeballs of over 1.5 million Abagusii people with industry leaders Getembe TV and Mwanyagetinge TV.

It will be available on GoTV set top boxes, star times and digital TV sets country wide.

Bagaka who is also the Secretary General United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is a seasoned entrepreneur who honed his skills in Uganda where he studied before coming back to Kenya.

Several leaders from the region have congratulated him for the bold move of starting a TV station.

“We welcome the new TV station . This is one way of promoting talent , creating employment and informing our people. We thank Hon Bagaka to choosing to invest in Gusii, ” said Nyambega Gisesa, UPA Party National Chairperson.
