Police detectives investigating socialite Starlet Wahu murder case have appealed to Kenyans, and especially John Matara’s ex-wife to volunteer information regarding the alleged serial killer’s past and his behaviour. The police are especially interested in the intrigues behind his marriage and divorce.

The detectives have hinted that they may treat his ex-wife as a key witness under a witness protection program. The police made the appeal as they continue to gather evidence against Matara.

Revelations about John Matara’s troubled marriage were revealed during his interrogation sessions.

During the police questioning, Matara, the prime suspect in the tragic murder of 26-year-old socialite Starlet Wahu, disclosed intricate details about his past life, revealing that he was once married, and had a child.

Sources indicate that Matara’s previous marriage ended in divorce due to a domestic dispute. Matara however refrained from providing specifics about his ex-wife and her current whereabouts.

Authorities, however, are praying that the woman volunteers and steps forward. This will help shed light on the alleged serial killer’s history, behavior, and the complexities surrounding their marriage and separation.

If Matara’s former wife decides to share her account, her statements could prove crucial to the case. For detectives seeking to understand the motives behind Matara’s actions, pieces of his past could be very vital.

End of the road

Accused of targeting and defrauding women with substantial incomes, along with allegations of torture and assault, Matara’s ex-wife could become a key witness under a witness protection program as investigators continue to compile evidence in the shocking case.

Matara is currently detained at the Industrial Area Police Station for a 21-day period as police investigations continue.

Matara is accused of sexually assaulting and robbing his victims, while extorting them by targeting their mobile and bank accounts. Several women have come forward, filing reports and accusing him of committing these heinous crimes.

Matara’s run came to an end when he was arrested at Mbagathi hospital. At the time of his arrest, he was seeking treatment for a stab wound suspected to have been inflicted in his confrontation with socialite Starlet Wahu.

Several other women have since surfaced and filed police reports, accusing Matara of similar crimes.
