Two people were killed in an accident along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on Monday February 12.

The incident occurred when a lorry rammed an Embassava Sacco bus from behind in Syokimau, Machakos County.

Two passengers succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while several others sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the mortuary for further procedures.

Initial reports suggest that both vehicles were traveling from Nairobi towards Katani when the tragic collision unfolded. The lorry, reportedly losing control, collided with the passenger bus, leading to the fatal outcome.

Authorities from Athi River Police Station swiftly responded to the scene, facilitating the clearance of the area and towing the wreckage to the station for further investigation.
