Four foreign nationals suspected to be Burundians, were arrested in Nairobi on Wednesday, January 31, allegedly in possession of 15 kilograms of cannabis sativa.
According to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday, detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit conducted a raid on a residence owned by the main suspect, Haggai Anakeya Aniango, located in Kamulu on Kangundo Road.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Aniango and his three alleged accomplices—Mario Amukula, Josephine Shimunza, and Shirimana Dorine.
During the thorough search of the house, law enforcement successfully recovered the cannabis, which was in the form of dry plant materials.
The DCI noted that the four suspects lacked proper identification documents. The four suspects were taken into custody at Kasarani Police Station, where they await arraignment. The confiscated drugs have been secured as exhibits in the ongoing investigation.
