A middle-aged man is currently detained at Yala police station in Gem following his arrest for possession of various narcotics.
The man, identified as Godfery Otieno Nyang’or, was apprehended by officers during a raid on his residence at Gamba village, Siaya County.
During the raid, law enforcement discovered a substantial quantity of contraband in Nyang’or’s possession, including 4 litres of chang’aa, two bundles of cannabis sativa, 360 rolls of bhang, 20 packets of export cigarettes, 5 sachets of second-generation alcohol Simba Waragi, 8 packets of solid beer Kuber, 500 pieces of rolling rizla, and 19 bottles of 500 ml of petrol.
Confirming the arrest, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo stated that Nyang’or is currently in police custody awaiting his appearance before the Siaya law court on Monday.
