Three additional suspects in the murder case of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, known as ‘Sniper,’ were charged with murder in the Kiambu law courts on Monday, February 05, 2024.

Christus Manyara Kiambi, also known as Chris; Brian Mwenda, alias Brayo; and Bonface Kithinji Njiiyia, known as Dj Kaboom, were charged with the murder of Sniper under Section 203 read with Section 204 of the Penal Code (Cap. 63).

The decision to arraign the trio followed a mental evaluation, which affirmed their competency to stand trial.

These charges increased the total number of individuals charged in connection with Sniper’s murder to five.

The two join Vincent Muriithi Kirimi, also known as Supuu, and Kenneth Murangiri Guantai, alias Tali in the docks.

The specifics of the charges outlined that between the 2nd and 16th of December 2023, the three suspects, at River Mutonga in Chiakariga Sub County within Tharaka-Nthi County, along with two more previously charged, allegedly committed the tragic crime.

Sniper’s disappearance occurred on December 2, 2023, and his lifeless body was discovered two weeks later.

A vehicle suspected to have been used in the crime was recovered at a residence in the Canopy area of Meru County, in late January 2024.
