A tragic incident unfolded in Ruiru, Kiambu County, where a bodaboda rider lost his life during a robbery.

The lifeless body of John Nzila Nzomo, the bodaboda rider, was discovered by locals in the vicinity of Kwa Waira Farm. He was found with severe injuries, lying partially unclothed on the roadside.

According to witnesses, they initially noticed bloodstains on the road, leading them to the grim discovery of Nzomo’s body. Upon closer inspection, it was evident that he had sustained significant injuries, particularly to the head, indicating a brutal assault with a blunt object.

Further examination revealed additional injuries consistent with the body being dragged to its final location, presumably in an attempt to conceal it from passing traffic.

Tragically, both Nzomo’s mobile phone and his motorcycle were missing from the scene, pointing towards a robbery as the motive behind the attack.

Law enforcement authorities, upon arriving at the scene, promptly initiated investigations into the incident. The victim’s body was subsequently transferred to the mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.

The incident underscores the growing concern over the surge in motorcycle theft cases, prompting calls for heightened police vigilance to address the escalating problem.
