A university student, identified as Killian Makuto Dunda from the Technical University of Mombasa, has been apprehended by Moi International Airport Anti-narcotics officers in Mombasa for the alleged possession of heroin.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the arrest took place on Wednesday.
Additional reports indicate that during a further search at the 24-year-old student’s residence, the officers recovered 300 grams of heroin.
Acting on an intelligence report, the officers located Killian Makuto Dunda at his Mshomoroni house in Kisauni sub-county.
The brownish/whitish substance, with an estimated street value of Sh1.2 million, was found wrapped in a clear polythene bag. Upon conducting tests, the substance tested positive for heroin on-site, as stated in the DCI’s official statement.
At the time of going to press, the suspect was in the process of being prepared for arraignment in court.
