Zari Hassan has refuted allegations suggesting that a video showing her and Diamond Platnumz holding hands sparked turbulence in her marriage to Shakib Cham Lutaaya.
Addressing the issue in a telephone interview with Millard Ayo TV, Zari emphasized that the video was filmed to promote Diamond’s latest song, ‘Mapoz.’
The Ugandan socialite clarified that the footage was captured in Johannesburg, South Africa, on February 18, 2024, during the filming of the reality series “Young, Famous & African” (YFA). Zari revealed that Zuchu and several others were present during the shoot, where she and Diamond held hands.
“Sasa siku ile tulikua tunashoot kwenye YFA kule Johannesburg Baba T akaniambia ‘Mama T video yangu naona haitembei vizuri tufanye video, nisaidie unifanyie promo ntaipost kwa hio wimbo nkasema poa. Hapo hapo Zuchu amesimama tena Zuchu kabisa alikua amesimama na watoto ameshika Nillan na Latifah. Dadangu Zahara amekuwepo, kaka alikua amekuja na mtu wa kuchange pesa Diamond alikua na hela anataka kuchange. The whole family was there,” Zari said.
However, the 43-year-old mother of five expressed regret for not informing her husband, Shakib, about her involvement in the video shoot with Diamond.
She disclosed that they had been facing challenges since November-December, as evidenced by her decision to remove Shakib’s pictures from her social media.
“Tatizo ni sikumwambia Shakib we shot that video. I was supposed to tell him and I din’t. Na hiyo sababu ni makosa yangu coz alishtuka sana alivoona hiyo video. Hapo hapo nikamwomba msamaha.
“Mimi na Shakib tumekuwa na matatizo yetu way before hii video. In Novemeber December nilianza kufuta picha zake. Tulikuwa na big issues. Hiawezi lutokea ati ni sasa hivi ndio sijui ndio Shakib anajiweka ama Zuchu anaenda. Zuchu anaendaga every week,” she said.
