Twelve students from Moi University sustained minor injuries when the bus they were traveling in was involved in an accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at Kimende town in Lari subcounty.

The bus, which was carrying a total of 50 students, was transporting third-year and fourth-year Kiswahili students to Mombasa.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the bus driver was attempting to evade another vehicle being driven recklessly before the bus lost control, veered off, and landed in a ditch.

The injured students were taken to Orthodox Hospital in Kimende town for medical attention.

The accident comes days after eleven students from Kenyatta University lost their lives when their bus was involved in an accident at Voi while headed to Mombasa.
