Former US President and current frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination Donald Trump has shared a not-so-uncharacteristic Instagram post of US President Joe Biden as he gave his State of the Union address at the US Congress.
Trump, who is poised to face off with the incumbent Biden at the November polls, shared a video edit of Joe Biden as he spoke to members of the US Congress – but added various Snapchat filters in an attempt to troll and trivialise Biden’s speech.
In the first of such bizarre filters, Biden appears with a puffed-up face and googly eyes as does his Vice President Kamala Harris who is seated just behind him, next to the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
Another gave the US commander-in-chief a straw hat and ribboned pigtails, followed by filters elongating Biden’s nose à la Pinocchio and replacing his head with that of an ugly dog.
The absurd clip came after Trump spent Biden’s address criticizing the Democrat’s punctuality, hair, and frequency of coughing on social media platform Truth Social.
Trump also suggested that Biden’s “DRUGS ARE WEARING OFF” during the address and that TV coverage of the speech was unfair for too frequently showing “Democrats clapping.”
At one point, he said: ‘‘He looks so angry when he’s talking, which is a trait of people who know they are “losing it.” The anger and shouting is not helpful to bringing our Country back together!”
In another post, Trump added: ‘This was an angry, polarizing, and hate-filled Speech. He barely mentioned Immigration, or the Worst Border in the History of the World!”
The altered State of the Union clips were only some of the onslaught of posts Trump shared on his social media platform. He also posted a clip of Biden eating ice cream with a dumpster burning behind him.
