Detectives have initiated inquiries into the perplexing vanishing of 23-year-old Victor Kibet, who was reportedly abducted on Monday afternoon by individuals claiming to be law enforcement officers.

Kibet was engrossed in a game of pool at an entertainment establishment in Thika when armed men, identifying themselves as police officers, approached him.

They forcibly ushered him into a waiting Subaru vehicle, accompanied by a double-cab pick-up truck.

Expressing concern, his father, Paul Mutai, described his son as a savvy entrepreneur with a penchant for business endeavors, though he remains uncertain about the specifics of his son’s ventures.

“My son informed me about embarking on a business venture with some friends, but he never disclosed the nature of it. We used to provide each other with financial support. Unfortunately, he is now missing, and I am en route from Narok to Nairobi to ascertain what has transpired,” lamented his father.

A graduate of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) main campus, Victor obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree last year.

While his peers navigate the job market, Victor has been living luxuriously, boasting ownership of a Mercedes Benz, an Audi Q5, and a recently sold Toyota Mark X, in addition to a cherished Subaru Forester that he enjoys driving on weekends.

Moreover, he has been assisting his father in constructing an opulent mansion in their village.

The incident was reported at Juja Police Station under OB number 74/19/3/24 at 6:58 pm.

“A group identifying themselves as police officers abducted him at gunpoint. We visited Thika Police Station, Juja, Ruiru, Central Police Station, but were informed at all these stations that he was not in their custody,” disclosed a friend.

Confirming the kidnapping report, Juja sub-county police commander Michael Mwaura assured that investigations have been initiated.
