British carrier Virgin Atlantic has entered into a codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways (KQ) with the aim of expanding their presence in the domestic, African, and international markets.
The agreement, formalized on Thursday, will facilitate Virgin Atlantic’s placement of its code on Kenya Airways’ London flights. This arrangement will offer passengers seamless access to Kenya Airways’ extensive network of destinations across Africa and beyond, as stated by both airlines.
A codeshare agreement is a commercial arrangement between two or more airlines that enables them to sell seats on each other’s flights, thereby enhancing their respective networks.
Under this agreement, each airline publishes and markets a flight using its own designator and flight number as part of its schedule.
