The Public Service Commission (PSC) has refuted claims regarding the alleged appointment of former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe as Head of Communications in the Ministry of Public Service.

PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri clarified that no such appointment has been made, nor has the board received any request for her employment.

Muchiri emphasized, “For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise.”

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Sunday said that Maribe had been hired in his ministry but he is not the one who made the appointment.

“It is true except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission,” said Kuria.

On March 10, Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi also took to his social media platforms to express gratitude to CS Kuria for the purported appointment.
