Former CNN anchor Don Lemon, now the host of his own streaming program, The Don Lemon Show, has married his longtime partner, Tim Malone, a prominent real estate broker. The couple exchanged vows on April 6 in a ceremony held in New York City.
The wedding took place at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan and was officiated by Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, in the presence of approximately 140 guests.
Speaking about their choice of officiant, Lemon expressed his gratitude, saying, “She’s a friend, and it means that much to us.”
For the ceremony, Lemon and Malone incorporated traditions from both of their families.
“Tim is from a big Irish family, so we planned a big Irish blessing in there in his ceremony which was led by Malone’s two sisters,” said Lemon
Additionally, the couple honored the tradition of jumping over a broom, a symbolic gesture historically used by enslaved people in the American South to acknowledge their marriages.
The grooms wore custom suits by Suit Supply and exchanged rings designed by Mark Lash. Among the attendees were several high-profile celebrities from both news organizations and Hollywood, including Matt Lauer, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Alec Baldwin, Clive Davis, Luann de Lesseps, and Tamron Hall.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar, according to reports from Daily Mail.
The wedding marks the culmination of an eight-year relationship that began when Lemon and Malone met at Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York. Notably, the event coincided with Malone’s birthday and the fifth anniversary of their engagement.
As they exited the church, the newlyweds were all smiles as they carried their three dogs, who were also part of the celebration. The ceremony concluded with Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” playing loudly, while the couple exited to Stevie Wonder’s classic, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”
