Police in Mlango Kubwa, Nairobi, are investigating a suspected poisoning incident after the body of a 35-year-old woman, Ann Nasimiyu, was discovered in her rented house on Biashara Street.
Nasimiyu’s roommate informed authorities that she had left Nasimiyu alone in the house while she went to work. Upon returning, she found Nasimiyu unresponsive to her calls and knocks on the door. Upon entering, she discovered Nasimiyu’s lifeless body lying on a mattress.
Investigations revealed that Nasimiyu had been using a charcoal jiko (stove) with both the door and window closed. The body showed no visible injuries. Nasimiyu’s body has been transferred to the City Mortuary pending a postmortem examination. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
