The Ministry of Defence has officially transferred the administration of the renovated Uhuru and Central Parks back to the Nairobi County Government, marking the completion of extensive refurbishments.
The handover ceremony, graced by Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, symbolizes the culmination of efforts to revitalize these iconic public spaces.
Among the notable improvements carried out during the renovation period are the establishment of lush green areas and the installation of controlled access points. Additionally, multiple gates and a perimeter fence have been erected to bolster security measures within and around the parks.
Enhancing the aesthetic appeal, strategically positioned sculptures of various wildlife, including warthogs and rhinos, now adorn the expansive lawns, adding to the allure of these urban sanctuaries.
