A Bomet court has allowed detectives 14 days to hold seven suspects linked to a gang-rape incident caught in a now viral video.
Resident Magistrate Mbeti Michuki of Bomet Law Courts approved the police’s request to hold the suspects, following an application by Jefferson Mwithi, an officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The suspects were apprehended on Thursday and taken to Bomet Police Station after a distressing video, filmed in December last year, surfaced and circulated widely on social media.
