Seasoned journalist Olive Burrows is set to officially join the Citizen Weekend anchoring team this Saturday, June 1, 2024. Burrows will make her debut on Citizen TV screens, co-hosting the Sunday Live prime-time show with media virtuoso Jeff Koinange on Saturdays and Sundays.

Burrows steps into the role previously held by Vitoria Rubadiri, who joined CNN in April. Expressing her excitement about joining the Royal Media Services (RMS) news anchoring team, Burrows promised to uphold professionalism and excellence in her new position.

“I am incredibly honoured to have joined the team. They have received me with open arms. And as iron sharpens iron, I look forward to a season of growth,” Burrows told Citizen Digital.

“As a journalist, I’m keen to promote good governance and accountability with my news reports. On Citizen Weekend, you can expect to get the Kenyan perspective on global events. The Covid pandemic taught us that we are never far removed from places we once thought were far from our part of the world.”

Before joining RMS, Burrows worked at the Nation Media Group as a prime-time news anchor for six years and was previously at Capital FM.
