Detectives at Embakasi Police Station are actively searching for two male suspects accused of luring, sexually assaulting, and strangling a young woman to death.
According to police reports, the suspects allegedly used a female accomplice, who is now in custody, to set a trap for the victim, 29-year-old Naomi Wangare Mwangi.
The crime was committed under the cover of darkness, and Naomi’s lifeless body was discovered in Embakasi on the night of February 18.
Witnesses recounted seeing two unknown assailants forcing Naomi to the ground and attacking her.
Moments later, a shrill cry pierced the night, alarming residents. By the time neighbors rushed to the scene, they found Naomi’s half-naked body, but the attackers had already escaped into the darkness.
Authorities were quickly alerted, and police transported the body to City Mortuary. Naomi’s husband, Cornel Ekaset, was later informed of the tragic incident.
On the fateful night, Naomi reportedly received a phone call before stepping out of her house, leaving behind her 9-year-old daughter.
Her husband, who was at work at the time, returned home later only to find Naomi missing. A short while later, a neighbor knocked on his door, delivering the devastating news—his wife had been murdered.
As part of their investigations, detectives arrested a female friend who had been in contact with Naomi before her death. Surveillance and witness statements indicate that the suspect was last seen with Naomi and two male individuals just moments before the attack.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that Naomi was strangled to death and had been sexually assaulted before being killed.
The manhunt for the two male suspects is still ongoing as police work to bring them to justice.
