A Ugandan man has been arrested in Naivasha after confessing to a motorist that he stabbed his wife to death following a dispute over supper.
The suspect, who was fleeing arrest, flagged down a motorist along the Gilgil-Naivasha road on Monday around 10 PM, requesting a lift to Nairobi. During their conversation, he shockingly admitted to killing his wife at their home near the Kenya-Uganda border after she allegedly cooked omena (silver cyprinid) instead of meat.
Sensing the gravity of the situation, the motorist drove straight to Naivasha Police Station and handed the suspect over to the authorities.
Police have since launched investigations and are in communication with Ugandan authorities for a smooth handover so the suspect can be arraigned in court.
The motive behind his sudden confession remains unclear, and the suspect is still under interrogation.
