Renowned radio host Steve Jacob Maunda, popularly known as Shatta Bway, has officially parted ways with Cape Media, a year after joining the media house.

Shatta Bway, who joined Cape Media in March 2024 as a presenter at Radio 47 following his departure from Royal Media Services, announced his exit via a post on social media on Saturday, May 3.

“I have officially left Cape Media (Radio 47). I leave with no regrets, only gratitude and a genuine desire to see Cape Media even higher,” he shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Expressing appreciation to his former employer and fans, Shatta Bway made it clear that while he is stepping away from Cape Media, he is not leaving radio altogether.

“You said, ‘Shatta, return to daily radio,’ and I listened. So stay tuned for the next chapter—you’ll like it,” he teased in his post.

Reflecting on his six-year journey in radio, Shatta Bway thanked his listeners—whom he affectionately calls the “Shatta Generals”—for their unwavering support.

“Six years ago, I switched on a microphone and introduced you to Shatta Bway. You instantly became family. You’ve stood by me through the highs and lows. Today, I’ve made another big decision,” he wrote.

In addition to his role as a presenter, Maunda also served as Director of Projects and Strategy at Cape Media’s betting platform, Maybets.

At the time of his appointment, Cape Media described him as a versatile addition to the team, stating: “Shatta Bway joins Cape Media Limited; he will be the Director of Projects and Strategy for Maybets, as well as a host on TV47 and Radio47.”

Shatta Bway has yet to reveal his next move, but his message suggests a new chapter in radio is on the horizon.
