Kenyan genge legend Paul Julius Nunda, popularly known as Jua Cali, has finally spoken out after his recent video appearance sparked speculation about his health.
Fans Compare Jua Cali to Vybz Kartel
The “Kiasi” hitmaker appeared in a new video looking noticeably fuller, with a puffier face, leading to an online buzz. Some fans were quick to draw parallels to Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel, who has been battling the autoimmune condition Graves’ disease.
A section of netizens even cheekily referred to Jua Cali as “Kenya’s Vybz Kartel.”
Graves’ disease, according to the Mayo Clinic, is an immune system disorder that can cause swelling around the eyes, changes in facial structure, and other complications.
Jua Cali Dismisses Health Concerns
Responding to the speculation, Jua Cali assured his fans that he is in good health and attributed the changes to natural aging.
“Niko 45 jamaa, nipeleke pole pole (I’m 45 years, be easy on me guys),” he said.
The rapper emphasized that there is no cause for alarm and that he is enjoying life and aging gracefully.
