Kajiado County, Kenya
Police in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, are investigating the mysterious death of a passenger who was found unresponsive inside a matatu on Sunday.

According to reports, the matatu crew was on its way to Ongata Rongai when they noticed the man, seated on the second row from the rear, appeared motionless. They immediately diverted to Sinai Hospital, where medical staff confirmed he was dead on arrival.

An identity card retrieved from his pocket identified him as 63-year-old Abednego Musyimi Kinyili.

“The body was moved to Ongata Rongai Sub-County Hospital morgue, pending a post-mortem examination,” police confirmed.

The deceased’s family has since been notified as detectives work to establish the cause of death.

Ongata Rongai, a busy commuter hub in Kajiado County, has experienced several public transport-related incidents in recent years. According to NTSA, public safety in the matatu sector remains a key priority, with regular inspections and safety awareness campaigns ongoing.
