A 38-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his wife to death in a domestic dispute in Njiru, Budalangi area, on Tuesday night.

Fatal Knife Attack at Couple’s Home

Police identified the suspect as Ibrahim Akongo Okanga, who is accused of fatally attacking his wife, Eunice Wanjiku, with a kitchen knife following an altercation at their home.

According to reports, the incident happened at around 8 p.m., leaving Wanjiku with fatal stab wounds.

Njiru Sub-County Police Commander John Owuoth, who visited the scene, confirmed the tragedy:

“The suspect stabbed the wife twice with a kitchen knife. He has since been arrested and is in custody as investigations continue.”

Shock in the Local Community

Residents described the couple as well-known in the community. The violent turn of events has left many neighbors in shock and disbelief.

The victim’s body was taken to a local morgue, while the suspect remains in custody awaiting arraignment.

Domestic Violence Cases on the Rise

The killing has once again highlighted the growing concerns over domestic violence in Kenya. Authorities are urging the public to embrace peaceful conflict resolution and to report cases of abuse before they escalate.

Police also emphasized that tackling gender-based violence (GBV) remains a national priority, with intensified efforts to protect vulnerable individuals.
