Four members of the same family have been killed, while four others sustained injuries, following a tragic road accident along the busy Marsabit–Moyale Highway in Marsabit County.

The fatal crash occurred on Saturday evening at the Kuku Farm area, a short distance from Turbi Ward, and involved two private vehicles—a Toyota Prado and a Jetour.

Confirming the incident, Turbi Sub-County Police Commander Daniel Parmuat said a mother and her three children died instantly after the two vehicles collided under circumstances that are yet to be established.

“The four family members succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” Parmuat said, adding that four other occupants from the vehicles were seriously injured.

The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. Their condition was not immediately disclosed.

Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and have since launched investigations to determine the cause of the crash.

Authorities have once again urged motorists to exercise caution while using the Marsabit–Moyale Highway, which has in recent years recorded several fatal accidents due to speeding, overtaking, and poor visibility.

The tragedy has left residents of the area in shock as families mourn the loss of their loved ones.
