Two suspects linked to the mysterious death of a 25-year-old man who fell from the 14th floor of an apartment along Kindaruma Road, Kilimani, have been detained for 14 days to allow police to complete investigations.

Lilian Moraa Mbeki, 48, and Patrick Jagongo were arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts, where detectives sought more time to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of Festus Lee Owino Oromo.

A postmortem examination revealed that Oromo suffered extensive trauma, including severe injuries to the head, chest and abdomen, as well as fractures on both legs—consistent with a high-impact fall. The car on which he landed was extensively damaged.

Toxicology samples were collected to establish whether alcohol or other substances played a role in the events leading to his death.

According to investigators, Oromo checked into the short-stay apartment on November 28 accompanied by the two suspects. Police are yet to determine whether he fell by accident or was pushed from the balcony.

Court documents indicate the apartment was found in disarray, suggesting a possible violent confrontation before the fall. Police say the woman was found asleep in one of the bedrooms when officers arrived, while the male suspect had left earlier.

Clothing and identification documents belonging to the deceased were recovered at the scene. Preliminary findings show the woman met the deceased online and is a dual citizen of Kenya and Costa Rica. Visitor logs also confirmed several guests accessed the apartment in the days leading up to the incident.

Police say the woman reported that she, Oromo, and the other suspect had been drinking together earlier before an argument broke out. Moments later, Oromo fell from the balcony. His body was found naked on top of a parked vehicle.

The woman was arrested at the apartment, while the male suspect was later traced and arrested in Kahawa West.
Detectives are treating the case as a murder.

Kilimani Tragedy: Two Suspects Detained Over Death of Man Who Fell From 14th Floor

Two suspects have been detained for 14 days as police investigate the death of 25-year-old Festus Lee Owino Oromo, who fell from the 14th floor of a Kilimani apartment. Detectives are probing whether the fall was accidental or the result of foul play.

The suspects — Lilian Moraa Mbeki and Patrick Jagongo — were presented before the Kibera Law Courts, where detectives argued they needed more time to examine forensic evidence, toxicology results, and witness statements.

A postmortem showed Oromo suffered massive trauma and multiple fractures, with the impact severely damaging the vehicle he landed on. Police say the deceased had checked into the short-stay apartment with the two suspects on November 28.

The apartment was found in disarray, indicating a possible struggle. The woman was found asleep in a bedroom, while the second suspect had already left. Police recovered clothing and documents belonging to the deceased and confirmed that the woman, a Kenya–Costa Rica dual citizen, had met Oromo online.

Detectives are investigating the case as a murder.
