Kakamega, Kenya – Detectives are investigating a gruesome incident after the body of a woman was discovered wrapped in a sack and dumped in River Sasala, Navakholo area, Kakamega County.
Locals in Makunga spotted the green sack floating in the river, prompting them to alert the authorities. Upon recovery, police noted that the body was decomposed, making immediate identification difficult.
“It appears the victim may have been killed elsewhere before being dumped in the river,” police said, adding that investigations are ongoing.
The body was taken to the local mortuary pending identification and an autopsy. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information about the victim or possible suspects to come forward.
This case adds to the growing concerns over violent crimes in Kakamega County, as detectives work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
