Police in Ruiru are investigating an incident in which a 53-year-old man died after his jacket became entangled on a wall around his home.

Tragic Discovery

The deceased, identified as George Mukuria, was found hanging on a fence on Monday night in the Karuguru area.

Authorities believe Mukuria had attempted to scale the compound wall after arriving home and finding the gate locked.

Events Leading to Death

Reports indicate that the man tried to call and knock for the guard, but received no response.

He then attempted to climb over the wall, during which his jacket got caught on the metal grills surrounding the property.

Police say the entanglement appears to have contributed to the fatal incident.

Body Found by Guard

The guard later discovered Mukuria’s body hanging on the fence and raised the alarm.

Officers who responded to the scene confirmed that he had died.

Investigations Ongoing

Police noted that there were no visible injuries on the body, suggesting the death may have been accidental.

The body was moved to the mortuary for post-mortem examination as investigations continue to establish the exact cause of death.
