Police in Kisii County are investigating a fatal domestic dispute after an 18-year-old man allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death during a confrontation at their home in Riagumo village.

According to police reports, the incident was reported at around 7:50 pm on May 1, 2026.

Officers who visited the scene established that the deceased, Simon Oyaro Moi, aged 20, had been at home with his younger brothers when an argument broke out over long-standing family disagreements related to land.

Police said the confrontation escalated after one of the brothers allegedly rushed into the house, armed himself with a kitchen knife and attacked Simon.

The victim reportedly sustained two stab wounds on the left side of the neck and chest, causing severe injuries.

Well-wishers rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Detectives processing the scene recovered several exhibits, including blood-stained clothing belonging to the deceased and a kitchen knife believed to have been used during the attack.

The body was later moved to Tabaka Mission Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

The suspect has since been detained at Etago Police Station as investigations into the incident continue.
