A multi-agency security team has recovered 10 stolen cattle during an intelligence-led operation in Turkana County, following a recent livestock theft reported in Pokot North Sub-County.

According to police, the operation was launched after security agencies received actionable intelligence on the whereabouts of the stolen animals.

Security Team Tracks Stolen Cattle to Namakat Village

The combined team traced the livestock to Namakat Village in Kalemngorok Sub-Location, Aroo Sub-County, where they successfully recovered the 10 cows.

The recovered animals were escorted to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) Camp in Kainuk, where they are awaiting identification before being handed over to their rightful owners.

Hunt for Suspects Continues

Security agencies said operations remain ongoing in the area to recover the remaining stolen livestock and apprehend those responsible for the theft.

Authorities also confirmed that security has been heightened in the region as efforts continue to combat livestock theft, a persistent challenge affecting pastoralist communities in parts of northern Kenya.
