Police have recovered 200 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of KSh6 million during an intelligence-led operation in Malindi Sub-County, Kilifi County.

The operation was conducted in the Thalatha Meli area, where National Police Service officers raided a residential house suspected of being used to store the narcotics.

Five Gunny Bags of Suspected Cannabis Seized

During the search, officers found two suspects inside the house and recovered five gunny bags containing dry plant material suspected to be cannabis.

The recovered substance was weighed and found to have a total weight of 200 kilograms.

Suspects in Custody

The two suspects were arrested and, together with the recovered exhibits, escorted to Malindi Police Station, where they remain in custody pending the completion of investigations and arraignment in court.

Police said investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to establish the source of the drugs and whether the suspects are linked to a wider narcotics trafficking network operating in the region.
