Former KTN news anchor Najma Ismail has launched a scathing attack on a city doctor who conducted a botched circumcision on her two sons.
Ms Ismail said the cut was done by a Dr Mohammed Nur of Care Hospital based in Eastleigh.
The director of the board of the Tourism Regulatory Authority said she had endured pain in the last four weeks.
“It has been the worst 4 weeks following botched circumcision done on my two sons by a Dr MOHAMMED NUR of CARE HOSPITAL in Eastleigh,” she said on Twitter.
The journalist vowed to report the doctor to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
“We will be reporting to @KmpdcOfficial we have just finished the second corrective surgery,” she added.
“May God heal my boys. Ameen.”
Cases of botched circumcisions have been rampant this season. Last month, a family in Tarakwa, Uasin Gishu County, was mourning following the death of their 14-year-old son, who succumbed to an infection obtained from a botched circumcision on December 3.
The teen, who had just completed his primary school leaving exam scoring 395 marks, was looking forward to joining a prestigious high school in the country.
On the day of the initiation, the boy had joined his four cousins at his uncle’s home in Lelmokwo, Nandi County for the traditional rites and the five were set for an elaborate graduation ceremony later in the month.
But, two days later, he began vomiting, lost his appetite and appeared weak.
His legs began to swell and he complained of chest pains and a bloated stomach.
According to his father, Mr Gilbert Kirwa Maina, before the circumcision, his son appeared overjoyed and was looking forward to his graduation into manhood.
Police are investigating the matter.
