A Nakuru couple that hit the headlines yesterday after delivering five babies has been thrown into mourning after all the newborns passed away. Nakuru Level V Hospital Medical Superintendent Aisha Maina has confirmed of their passing.

The babies were delivered at seven months and were all on life support at the hospital’s incubators. The four girls and one boy weighed between 500 grams and 650 grams at birth.

At this birth weight, Dr Maina said that “chances of survival are slim as the internal organs are not fully developed.”

The miracle birth to young parents Simon Ndung’u Kinyanjui who is a matatu driver and his wife Margaret Wairimu had been met with an outpouring of good wishes from Kenyans on social media.
