The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has announced the expiry of its chief executive Peter Kamunyo’s contract.

The insurer has in a statement released today evening said that Kamunyo’s three year term is set to expire in April.

“The employment contract of NHIF chief executive officer comes to an end on April 14,” NHIF has said.

Kamunyo was hired in the year 2020 and was eligible for an extension of his term but the Kenya Kwanza government wants him gone it appears.

NHIF chairman Michael Kamau has said they will recruit the next CEO of the insurer competitively.
