About 26 percent of Kenyans who voted for President William Ruto in last year’s elections are not sure if he actually beat Azimio leader Raila Odinga, according to a poll by Tifa.

The survey shows that 12 percent of Kenyans who voted for Ruto believe he did not win. And 14 percent of Kenyans who voted for Ruto are not sure if he won.

Of those who voted for Raila, 71 percent believe that he won the hotly contested presidential election.

Wafula Chebukati, who recently completed his term as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman, declared Ruto as duly elected president having attained 7,176,141 (50.5 per cent) of the total votes while Raila garnered 6,942,930.

Azimio has insisted that Raila garnered 8,170,353 votes representing 57.3 percent while Ruto garnered 5,915,973 representing 41.66 percent.

Last week Raila threatened to mobilise his supporters back to the streets after Ramadhan if their demands which include the opening of IEBC servers will not be met by then.

The opposition chief insisted that the IEBC server should be opened so that it is scrutinised and the correct results of the August 9, 2022 polls made public.

“Lazima wafungue server.”
