The Shakahola massacre death toll has hit 16 after police exhumed 16 more bodies from 52 graves located at an expansive farm belonging to controversial Pastor Paul Mackenzie.

At least 75 bodies have been exhumed since last week by security agencies.
Most of the dead are suspected members of a Christian cult.

Two women were also found alive in the expansive 800 acres farm owned by Mackenzie. Out of the 16 bodies found today, five were in the same grave while the rest were in different graves.

A total of 212 people including 99 males and 113 females are still missing. The Kenya Red Cross (KRC) has said that out of those reported missing, two women were rescued and successfully linked with their families.

KRC has also set up a tracing desk to receive and process reports of missing persons.
According to KRC, tracing is necessary to allow family members or close friends to report persons unaccounted for and who they have reason to believe may have been affected in the incident.
