Celebrity news anchor with the popular vernacular TV station, Inooro TV, Ken WaKuraya has quit.
His exit comes after a fallout with a senior news editor named Hellen and the Executive Editor only known as Mr. Rukwaro.
The tiff began with claims over Ken’s weekly anecdotes where he ideally mentioned Hellen, his editor, as a controlling boss and always seeking to micro-manage people reporting to her.
Ken WaKuraya has been a building block toward Inooro’s success and has worked with the TV station since its inception.
Sources close to the Sauce team told us he left the Royal Media Service (RMS), which is Citizen TV’s parent company disciplinary panel consisting of the Human Resource Manager, Rose Wanjohi, and former NTV Managing Editor, Linus Kaikai who is now the Chief Operations Officer for Royal Media Services plus his co-host Njambi Njau.

Just one week ago, the TV host took to social media in an angry rant after he was arrested on a Saturday evening while performing on stage at La Tessara in Kasarani.
Ken has had a controversial career since his days as an actor with the popular local TV show, Tahidi High, which was also a major hit with the TV station, Citizen TV.
During his arrest, WaKuraya, who is also a Mugithi artist and a close collaborator with Samidoh in subsequent posts, shared videos documenting his tribulations alongside others as they were ferried away in a police car.
Subsequently, during the last general elections, he tried his hand in politics, vying for a Member of Parliament seat for Ndaragua constituency. His ambitions flopped after Mt. Kenya leaders decided Jeremiah Kioni who was the seating member at the time should continue carrying the political mantle.
Kenyan influencers so far have speculated he is a favourite of S.K Macharia’s spouse Ms. Gathoni in terms of bringing viewership, following and revenue generation, and his exit will be a big blow to the station’s popularity.
Ken WaKuraya is a big favourite to many viewers and his sudden exit comes after a big lot of RMS employees have quit Kenya’s number one station including Willis Raburu, Joan Njaro, Sam Ogina, Francis Gachuri, and others who hold senior positions at the Macharia led outfit.
